CAFFÈ DI PIÙ: A COFFEE WITH AN EXTRA INGREDIENT
Caffè Di Più was established on the initiative of Fondazione Germano Chincherini in order to give differently-abled persons a concrete occupational and formational opportunity in the restaurant & bar industry. It is located in a former chemist’s shop in Piazza Zanelli, Salò (Brescia), which has been renovated and turned into a modern bar for this purpose.
Caffè Di Più was born out of passion. Opening it entailed a great deal of red tape, which forced us to open in high season, putting a strain on the employees and the differently-abled persons they took care of. The test was passed. There was no lack of mistakes, but after two months we can say that everyone showed much more skill, tenacity, and dexterity than we imagined.
Coming from different places and working experiences, the trainees involved in the project are closely assisted and taken care of by qualified personnel. Fobap Onlus and Anffas Brescia joined the project from the very beginning; then Azienda Garda Sociale, NIL Salò and Social Work Vallesabbia also joined, with individualised training programmes and job inclusion projects.
In addition to quality and professionalism, at Caffè Di Più you will see the effort to create a welcoming place and a facilitated relational and working environment, which enhances the ability of those who often cannot find their opportunity to show what they can do.
