June 2013 Report, Jardín de la Esperanza – Mérida, Venezuela
We continue our team-biulding work with the psychologist.
The girls who live at the Divino Niño family-home, are coming to the Jardin during the holidays, and to reward them for their behaviour and for their effort during the school-year, we decided to let them participate in the Plan Vacacional (summer field-trip) which we are organizing.
The girls paint the clay statues that they had prepared with the librarian's help.
Andrea, patiently helps Anderson with his personal hygiene, since he is still not able to cut his nails on his own.
University book fair: while the kids participate in some activities, we take the chance to buy some new books. Among the various topics, this year we bought a good variety of books on functional diversity.

For the younger girls it might be harder to imagine what they will do in the future, but they participated as well.
The summer field-trip will be at the beach, so we thought that an excursion to the mountains to close the school year would have been perfect. The Brigata de Rescate Libertador guided us and let us use their headquarters and personnel.
So here are the members of the Jardin with the members of the mountaineering club, the members of the brigade, etc. Everyone is ready to explore the Paramo de los Conejos.

The last day the weather changed.
The trip back was a bit adventorous, but the children had a lot of fun.
And now, we are ready for the beach!
